Chocolate Mug Cake Recipe

Probably never thought I’d send you a recipe for chocolate cake, did you?

This isn’t just any old cake — it is chocolatey, rich, and decadent.

And they contain a “surprise” - NO FLOUR ... not even almond flour.

Wait, what?  Cake with no flour?

You bet!  The cocoa powder takes the place of wheat or nut flours.  It makes a cake that is light and fluffy and ready to enjoy in 3 minutes, tops.

In fact, I'm betting you'll already have all the needed ingredients for this mug cake already stocked in your fridge and pantry,

Flourless Chocolate Mug Cake

(Makes 1 serving)

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2-3 tbsp preferred sweetener, I like using Swerve, Truvia, or allulose.
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  1. In a large coffee mug, melt the butter.
  2. To the melted butter, mix together the egg, cocoa powder, and sweetener.  Lastly, add the baking soda and mix well.
  3. Microwave the batter in the coffee mug for 1 minute or until baked.  *Note, the batter will rise very high at first and then deflate as it is finished baking.
  4. Test the mug cake for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the middle.  If the toothpick comes out clean it is finished, if not microwave it for a few more seconds.

This cake is the perfect blend of light and chocolatey.  Plus, it's great for satisfying that sweet tooth while staying on track with your health goals.

Make one ahead of time to bring with you to that dinner party that has you worried about being able to keep your dessert willpower nice and strong!

Happy baking & even happier eating!
